Itinerary

DAY 1: HANOI – NGHIA LO (L/D)

  •  Pick up at Hanoi Old Quarter to go to Nghia Lo.
  • Visit Duong Lam Ancient Village, a National Cultural Monument with the unique design of old houses, historical temples, and ancient Confucianism culture. Stop at a local house for a delicious lunch. Then take a break with a short nap.
  • Enjoy the peaceful feeling of the rural countryside with its beautiful paddy fields and tea farm. You can also see corn or maize growing among the karst limestone rocks.
  • After the tours, spend the night in a traditional Thai stilt house in Nghia Lo.

DAY 2: NGHIA LO – MU CANG CHAI (B/L/D)

  • Wake up in the country, where the air is fresh and it's quiet. Have breakfast at homestay. After that, you will check out homestay.
  • Hit the road to go to Nam Co town and see how the H'Mong people live and what they do every day.
  • Drive to the terraced rice fields of Mam Soi and La Pan Tan. You can take a short walk up to the higher point and enjoy the view of the area without any obstructions.
  • Taste the local specialties at a friendly dinner made by people from the area.
  • Stay in a home in Kim Noi Village for the night.

DAY 3: MU CANG CHAI – SAPA (B/L/D)

  • Have a delicious breakfast to get ready for trip. You'll be picked up and driven from Mu Cang Chai to Sapa via Tan Uyen.
  • Along the road, you can enjoy the beautiful views of mountains and rice fields in the country.
  • Have lunch in Sapa, and then go back to your hotel to rest.
  • The rest of the day is free for you to explore Sapa.

DAY 4: SAPA – BAC HA MARKET – HOANG SU PHI (B/L/D)

  • When you get to Bac Ha market, you can start exploring in the morning.
  • Learn about the ancient ways of dealing between different minority groups in this colorful market full of people in different clothes.
  • After the tour, go to a neaby restaurant for lunch.
  • Go to the Palace of Hoang A Tuong, an amazing building with a strange mix of baroque and oriental style. After going up a small mountain road, you can get to the village of Ban Phung. Get a chance to see people from the La Chi culture. Admire their traditional dress, which consists of black skirts and coats that reach the knee and have a little bit of colorful embroidery.
  • Enjoy dinner at local restaurant in Hoang Su Phi. Overnight at homestay.

DAY 5: HOANG SU PHI – HA GIANG (B/L/D)

  • Continue your amazing trip by going to Tan Su Phin Pass and Cong Troi Pass, the two most beautiful passes in the north of Vietnam.
  • Go sight-seeing and take some great pictures of the beautiful views.
  • Stop at a neighborhood restaurant for lunch on your way to Ha Giang.
  • Spend the night in homestay.

DAY 6: HA GIANG – DONG VAN – MEO VAC (B/L/D)

  • Get to Dong Van via the Cong Troi pass and Yen Minh.
  • See the early-20th-century King's palace in the H'mong village of Sa Phin.
  • Visit the Karst Plateau Geopark in Dong Van, a fascinating place with a lot of limestone, beautiful mountain scenery, and a rich culture of ethnic minorities.

You can eat lunch in one of the old houses near the old market. You have free time to wander around the area around the old market and look at the colorful clothes that people are wearing.

Trek through Ma Pi Leng Pass, one of the most beautiful roads in Vietnam, and stay the night in Meo Vac.

DAY 7: MEO VA – BAO LAC – CAO BANG (B/L/D)

  • Go to Meo Vac, a small town where people from many different cultures, such as the Tay, the Dao, the H'mong, and the Lo Lo, live and work.
  • Have lunch at a diner in Bao Lac. If you get there on a Sunday morning, you can go to the local market where people sell hand-made clothes and make indigo-dyed jackets on old sewing machines.
  • Go to Pac Rang to see how the Nung people make farm tools and blacksmiths.
  • Have dinner and spend the night at homestay

DAY 8: BAN GIOC WATERFALL – BA BE LAKE (B/L/D)

  • Have breakfast, then go to Cao Bang to see the Ban Gioc waterfall, one of the most majestic and beautiful places in the Northern hilly area.
  • Go sight-seeing and take gorgeous pictures of the beautiful waterfall. If you are lucky enough to visit Ban Gioc Waterfall between September and December, this is the best time to see how beautiful it is.
  • Go to "Tiger Cave" in Nguom Ngao, which has amazing rock forms and stalactites in different shapes.
  • Drive to Ba Be National Park and enjoy the peace of the park. Have dinner and stay the night at a homestay.

DAY 9: BA BE LAKE – HANOI (B/L)

  • Have breakfast at homestay and then walk to the Bo Lu boat stop and the rice fields.
  • Take a 3-hour boat ride around Ba Be Lake to enjoy the cool air and scenery. You can swim, or jump into the lake.
  • Have lunch at a local house before transfer back to Hanoi.
