On Thursday, Vietnam’s national airline, Vietnam Airlines, said that starting in November, it will begin offering direct flights between Da Nang, a city on the central coast, and Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.
The two prime ministers, Pham Minh Chinh of Vietnam and Srettha Thavisin of Thailand, met during the high-level week of the 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York and discussed the possibility of opening additional flight routes between their countries.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of Vietnam and Thailand’s strategic alliance.
In order to begin service between Da Nang International Airport and Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok in early November, Vietnam Airlines is coordinating with the appropriate authorities.
Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are now directly connected to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport with six daily flights offered by the airline.
It is hoped that increased cultural, economic, political, and social exchanges between the two nations will result from the Da Nang–Bangkok route.
