You'll be picked up at the Lao Cai station, taken to a local diner for breakfast, and then driven to the Bac Ha market. The most colorful market of the hill people in the north of Vietnam is in the mountain town of Bac Ha, which is 110 km from Sapa. At least eight different ethnic groups go to this Sunday market, which is open from
9:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Tourists can also see the H'mong King's palace, which is an old building made by the French and the Chinese.
In the afternoon, we go on a short hike to the village of Ban Pho, where the flower H'mong group lives. We've been asked into a few local homes to drink green tea and corn wine, listen to the hosts talk about their families, and talk to them. Then, enjoy the scenery as you go around to Bac Ha and then back to Lao Cai to keep going to Sapa.
