Located in the heart of Vietnam’s capital – Hanoi with just only about 500 meters long, the train street is one of the most popular unofficial tourist attractions. This narrow alley have attracted tons of visitor every day for it unique and thrilling experiences. Also, tourist can enjoy Vietnam’s different kind of incredible coffees.

Popular around southeast Asia like Singapore and Malaysia, but Hanoi Train Street is a one-of-a-kind destination offering travelers an unforgettable experience. Tourists may see the incredible sight of the train closely approaching and blasting its loud horn to signal people to move out of the way from afar. You can feel the strong wind, hear the engine screaming, and the smell of fuel emanate in the air while sipping Hanoi signature egg coffee just a few inches from the fast-moving train.

Where is the Train Street?

The train go through diffrent part of the city.

  • 224 Le Duan Street ( recommened )
  • 05 Tran Phu Street
  • Phung Hung Street

Coffee shop at 224 Le Duan is usually my first recommendation to tourists since it is less crowded than shops in the old quarter and has better prices. You’ll have more personal room to enjoy your coffee and have a seat outside near the track. However, the old quarter train street is where it’s at to see the everyday lives of Hanoians.

Nightlife on the Track

After a long day of sightseeing, visitors may cool down with a drink or a full coconut while listening to the roar of two trains passing next to one another. To take home a memorable memento of their trip, some visitors have taken to placing beer caps on the rails.

What is the best time to visit the Train Street?

What you see will depend on your preferences. The best time to see the locals in action is between 10:30 and 11 a.m. if you don’t have plans, evening is a great time to hang around.
